In the third phase of its involvement, PMSSS constructed 648 permanent houses in Devanampattinam. These houses were insured and handed over to the beneficiaries by His Excellency Surjit Singh Barnala, the Governor of Tamil Nadu on 2nd March, 2006. The Collector Mr. Gagandeep Singh Bedi, I.A.S., presided over the stately function. His Grace the Most Rev. Dr. Antony Anandarayar, D.D., D.C.L., Archbishop of Pondicherry and Cuddalore gave his prayerful wishes to the beneficiaries. Rev. Fr. PMSSS has proposed to construct 2 Anganwadies in Devanampattinam. The conferation of Indian Industry (CII), Chennai chapter, has come forward to construct a Community Centre in Devanampattinam. The Government on its part had taken care of the tasks of provision of drinking water, electricity and sewage plant. The roads laid by PMSSS upto Water Bound Mecadam (WBM) level will be converted into concrete roads by the Government in due course with the help of Asian Development Bank [ADB] |
